Age Calculator

Enter your birth date and get international age, Korean age, and year-based age at once — plus zodiac, star sign, and a birthday countdown.

Pick your birth date to instantly see your international age, year age, and Korean age — plus days lived, the countdown to your next birthday, your Chinese zodiac, and your star sign.

OgleOgle Age Calculator settles the "how old am I exactly?" question on a single screen — especially useful for anyone navigating Korea's three coexisting age systems after the 28 June 2023 age unification law. With no signup or login, enter only your date of birth and instantly see international age, year-based age, and traditional Korean age side by side, plus total days lived, the D-day to your next birthday, your Chinese zodiac animal, and your Western star sign. All input stays in your browser and is never sent to a server.

Korea uses three age counts in parallel. ① International age: full years elapsed since birth — the worldwide standard, and as of 28 June 2023 the official basis for administration, law, and contracts. ② Year-based age: current year minus birth year, still used by the Military Service Act, the Youth Protection Act, and other targeted statutes. ③ Korean age ("sage nai"): you are 1 at birth and gain a year every January 1 — still common in everyday conversation and respectful speech with elders. The three can differ by up to 2 years for the same person, which is why "how old are you" is unexpectedly thorny in Korean.

Usage is a single flow. ① Enter your birth date (YYYY-MM-DD) → ② pick solar or lunar calendar → ③ read the results immediately. Lunar birthdays are auto-converted to solar (and back) so you can input whichever you remember. Change the reference date from today to any past or future day to answer questions like "how old was I when I started this job?" or "what was my Korean age on my wedding day?".

The calculator also resolves the cultural extras you would otherwise look up separately. The Chinese zodiac (rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, pig) is matched from your birth year, with Lunar New Year cusp handling so January and February births are checked against the correct year. Your Western star sign (Aries through Pisces) is matched from solar date. The D-day to your next birthday updates at midnight, doubling as a live countdown, and "days lived" lets you mark 100-day, 1,000-day, or 10,000-day milestones with friends and family.

OgleOgle also publishes companion daily-life tools — the D-day calculator (/tools/dday-calculator), Korean salary calculator (/tools/salary-calculator), and character counter (/tools/character-counter). For job applications, housing-subscription forms, year-end tax filings, and childcare-subsidy paperwork that ask for Korean age, bookmark this page once and you'll never have to search again.
