Snake Game

Snake is the classic arcade game where you steer a growing snake with arrow keys, eat food to extend its length, and survive as long as possible without crashing. Born from the 1976 arcade hit "Blockade" and made famous worldwide by Nokia mobile phones in 1997, Snake is one of the oldest digital games still played daily. Two-line rules, decades of compulsive replays — that's the magic.

The controls couldn't be simpler. Four directional keys or touch swipes steer the snake, which moves continuously on its own. Every food pellet your head touches adds one segment of length and one point of score. Hit a wall, hit your own body, and it's game over instantly. The snake speeds up gradually as your score climbs, so the late game is a pure reflex test.

High scores are about space management, not speed. Early on, sweep the edges to keep a safe corridor open in the middle. As the snake stretches longer, diving into the interior gets dangerous fast. Predict the next pellet's spawn one step ahead and turn proactively, and leave the center loose when you sense the walls closing in — that single discipline buys you dozens more bites.

The scoring is a single number — one point per food — but the math is brutal. Each new segment expands your self-collision surface geometrically, so a point at length 80 is worth far more than a point at length 8. Milestones like 50, 100, and 200 become natural next targets, and the "just one more run" loop after every wipeout is the real engine of this game.

Five minutes on the train, ten minutes after lunch, one round before a meeting — Snake fits any pocket of time. Share your final score as a challenge link and see who lasts longer on the same rules. When you want the pure feel of a classic arcade run, Snake is the answer.
